URBAN - partner by tradition.. 1947 Mr. Josef Urban Senior has founded the company URBAN Elektrotechnik. 1967 Development of the first single head welding machine for vinyl windows. 1972 Mr. Josef Urban Junior has founded the company URBAN GmbH & Co. Elektrotechnik KG. 1972 Start with the construction and production of automatic multi-head welding machines. 1975 Start with the construction and production of automatic corner cleaning machines. 1980 Change of the business form to URBAN GmbH & Co. Maschinenbau KG. 1982 Opening of the first production plant outside of Germany in Tyrol / Austria.. 1983 URBAN starts to sell into the Russian market. 1987 URBAN has founded the first sales and service division in North-America. 1988 Start up with the series AKS 1400 four head welding machines. 1989 The first and revolutionary four head corner cleaning machine SV 800 has been developed. 1992 URBAN has put up a new production plant in Fredericton, Canada. 1994 Start with the new series SV 610 CNC-corner cleaning machines. 1998 URBAN goes East - Start up of URBAN in China. 1999 URBAN has become the market leader of the machine manufacturers for the vinyl-window industry. 2000 The new welding machine concept with the AKS 8000 has been put into action. 2001 Introduction of the SV 530 - flexible CNC-corner cleaning machine with high-speed axis. 2002 URBAN Polska has been founded. 2005 The 3rd URBAN-Partnership Days have become to one of the most important international trade fairs in the PVC-window industry. 2010 Machine highlights at it's finest. URBAN presents the new corner cleaning machine SV 840 as well as the novel 2-axis screwing unit FBA 2500/2. Today, URBAN is one of the market and technology leaders with more than 700 employees world-wide.
