Future Technology Forum (FTF)

In September 2021 modern welding processes and their corner strengths were on the agenda of the Future Technology Forum, which is organized by the Quality Association for Plastic Window Profile Systems. Joachim Hauns (aluplast) and Michael Walther (URBAN), the two chairmen of the working group Profile/Machines elucidated the different advantages and disadvantages of the various welding processes and illuminated trends and future challenges.

It was emphasised in a subsequent panel discussion, that it is an important prerequisite for the introduction of new welding techniques, if there was a collaboration early on between window- and machine construction as well as the system providers. Since the demands on quality and visual appearance of welded corners continue to rise, it makes good sense to invest in modern welding techniques, according to the opinion of a window manufacturer.
