They all want the new technologies

„The market is ready for the technologies of the future“. This is the conclusion drawn by Urban GmbH & Maschinenbau KG after their successful appearance at the Fensterbau/ Frontale 2018 in Nuremberg. The leading supplier of machinery technology for the PVC window industry presented their new welding and corner cleaning processes in Nuremberg and were literally overrun by the fair visitors.

Nice corner are popular

„With the focus on nice corners for coloured window and door profiles, we deliberately picked up on an absolute trend topic, but we didn´t expect such a rush. The feedback of the visistors was excellent as they could convince themselves at our booth that we offer several solutions that lead to top results“, explains Martin Urban, Managing Director of the Urban Group.

The Vario-Cut-II welding process with three-dimensional milling developed by Urban presented in the new four head welding machine AKS 9600 was particularly popular among visitors at the booth. The fact that the same machine can also be used with
V-groove technology applying wrap around fixtures and final colour optimization in the corner cleaning process was impressing for the fair audience. „The versatility and flexibility in particular were very well received by interested visitors and new prospective customers. As we offer different processes, Urban has a suitable solution for each production environment“, says product manager Andreas Lerchenmüller. In order to illustrate what this looks like in detail, Urban also presented different toolings for the milling, welding and corner cleaning processes.

Not only reliable production processes but also visually outstanding results were the convincing argument for visitors on the Urban booth. „Our sample panel was a big hit.
Many visitors repeatedly used to check the sash and frame surfaces with their palms to detect the welding bead - but did not find it“, say Martin Urban and Andreas Lerchenmüller who are happy about the achieved wow-effect. On the sample panel with the exhibits it was demonstrated that the Cut II milling technology by Urban also works perfectly with new, co-extruded materials. Urban exhibited PVC windows in various combinations including PVC with aluminium or wood deco foil.

„The good response at Fensterbau/ Frontale 2018 has shown that we are on the right track with the new process and that the two-years’ development has really paid off“, says Urban.

Another highlight at the Urban booth were solutions for efficient logistics which still provide window and door manufacturers with the greatest rationalization potential in the manufacturing process. Consequently, the interest in the demonstration system exhibited by Urban with a distribution shelf for destacking was quite high. It ran in permanent operation all day long and moved more than 1200 elements per day.
