The transition from custom manufacturing to mass production can be that simple: M\u00fcllers Produktions GmbH & Co. KG in M\u00f6nchengladbach has now made this switch with a new SV 840\/6 weld bead finishing machine from Urban.<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n \u201cUntil now, we\u2019ve been plastering all elements with a threshold by hand. Now these components also run fully automatically from the four-head welding machine into the new SV 840,\u201d explains Production Manager Marco L\u00f6hr. The highlight of Urban\u2019s automatic plastering machine: Unloading from the new SV 840 takes place on three sides, so that window frames, sashes, and front doors are each discharged on separate sides.<\/p>\n\n Also fully integrated into this process are the windows with a wood-grain finish, which M\u00fcllers supplies in large quantities to the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n Another advantage of replacing the previous plastering machine with the new SV 840: \u201cWe can now handle larger elements than before and gain about 20 cm in length with each one. This is extremely important to us, as the trend is clearly moving toward ever-larger windows and doors,\u201d says L\u00f6hr.<\/p>\n\n By having Urban\u2019s new SV 840 in operation, M\u00fcllers Produktions GmbH experienced an increase in capacity of altogether 10%. \u201eIndeed, we still have upside potentials but our manufacturing process is prepared in such a way that the performance of the SV 840 in single shift operation ensures to supply the hardware workplaces with elements that are handled in two shifts there. That works perfectly\u201d says Marco L\u00f6hr.<\/p>\n\n The reason why this works is also due to the fact that some jobs which used to be done manually by M\u00fcllers\u2019 team in the past are now performed fully-automatically by the SV 840 thanks to its integrated milling head. This includes drillings for cross corner brackets or milling-off of combinations.
