The year 2019 has only just begun, and URBAN has already had the opportunity to participate in an event that was held for the first time this year under a new format: the symposium “Bonded Window Constructions.”
“Modern | Secure | Dimensionally Stable” in January 2019 in Mainz. The event was a joint initiative of the Gütegemeinschaft Kunststoff – Fensterprofilsysteme | GLASWELT and the IFT. This industry gathering combined a concise program of presentations with a panel discussion and an in-house exhibition. This provided all visitors and exhibitors with ample opportunity to network and exchange information. The aim of the event was to highlight the advantages of adhesive bonding and to overcome reservations about the technology in order to promote its use in Germany. Exciting and hotly debated topics included, for example, burglary protection for bonded windows, the RC2 and RC2N security classes, and the pretreatment of the profile (primer or plasma) for bonded windows.
In their two keynote presentations, speakers Karin Lieb from ift Rosenheim (Product Management for Glass and Building Materials) and Gerald Feigenbutz addressed current issues in adhesive technology. During the subsequent panel discussion, representatives from the profile, adhesive, and machinery industries, among others, took the floor and answered critical questions from the expert audience.
Over 12 years ago, Urban developed its first glass bonding station (GVS) and has been refining the process ever since. Whether manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic: Urban offers the perfect bonding technology for every production environment. With innovative ideas and solutions, Urban ensures process reliability even during periods of technological change. Urban demonstrates this not only in glass bonding but also in other areas.
