Voices of our Trainees
Hello, my name is Nina, and I just entered an order into our system. What I really appreciate about URBAN is the ability to work independently and the helpful colleagues. When I start working in a new department, I receive an introduction to the basics of the department. Once I’ve grasped those, I’m shown more and more tasks and responsibilities. By the end of my rotation in this department, I will have mastered all the fundamentals and skills that are often useful in other departments. If there are still any uncertainties regarding my responsibilities, I can always turn to my colleagues and my supervisor for guidance.
Hi, my name is Robin. I started my apprenticeship in September 2023, and in this short time I’ve already learned a lot about the field of industrial mechanics. What I particularly appreciate about URBAN is the variety of tasks, which can change from day to day. I also like the fact that you get to work in all the relevant departments during the training program. That way, you can quickly figure out which role suits you best. Not only am I getting to know new colleagues, but I’m also gaining insight into URBAN’s machine production. Here, you really see how much time and effort goes into making a machine.
Hello, my name is Eduarta, and I’m currently working on positioning assemblies according to the corresponding bill of materials. What I particularly appreciate about URBAN is the wide variety of departments where I can gain hands-on experience during my apprenticeship. This allows me not only to learn the theory of technical product design but also to discover new skills I possess through practical work. We also have a foosball table project underway, which we are expected to successfully complete as a team, with the help of our instructors and other trainees from different departments. Through this project, I’ve learned about many different professions and, at the same time, gained experience with the processes involved in such a project—experience that will be very helpful for my future in this training program.
Hello, my name is Vanessa, and I’m currently working on a presentation about my training company for my vocational school classes. Thanks to our weekly study session, we trainees can prepare for class together and learn as a group. I really enjoy my apprenticeship at URBAN because the wide variety of tasks keeps me challenged every day. My helpful colleagues are always there to support me. I’m already looking forward to the other departments I’ll be working in during my internship at URBAN.
Hi, my name is Emil, and I’m currently wiring a mounting plate with various electronic components. I really enjoy this because it’s such a comprehensive and multifaceted task. My day-to-day work at URBAN is very interesting because I learn something new every day. From drilling with a drill press to soldering components onto circuit boards, I do it all. Thanks to my instructor’s support, I’m not only gaining more knowledge, but I’m also being thoroughly prepared for my exams.
Hi, my name is Christian, and I’m currently attaching an assembly to a welding machine. What I really appreciate about Urban is that they introduce you to the flexibility of the various work areas right from the start of your training. For example, at the beginning of my apprenticeship at Urban, I assembled similar components in the pre-assembly department. This means I know exactly how much work goes into the parts I assemble. It’s wonderful to see how, through the collaboration of colleagues from different departments and the assembly of many individual parts, a fully functional machine is ultimately created. I really enjoy being a part of this exciting process. Thanks to my instructors, who teach me both the theoretical and practical aspects of the material, I feel well prepared for the upcoming midterm exam.
