The new GLS 200-4 glass spacer saw with LAEG-4 offers greater flexibility
The new version of the GLS glazing bead saw, when used in combination with Urban’s length stop, offers greater safety during the cutting and assembly of glazing beads. For the first time, two pairs of glazing beads can now be cut in a single pass.
“This allows our customers to cut all four glazing beads on a sash to length in a single cut.”
In addition to the time savings, there is also a sorting advantage. This is because, when all four glazing beads for a single sash are cut in a single operation, the operator can ensure that all four beads match the corresponding sash. When the process was divided into two steps, care had to be taken to assemble the correct pairs of glazing beads together. This potential source of error has now been eliminated. Another advantage of this new Urban model is the integrated glass simulation feature, which simulates the glass that will be installed later during the cutting process.
Controlled by a PC and a servo motor, the adjustment is made according to the data from the work planning stage. “The simulation ensures that the glass stop seal is cut perfectly and does not overlap during the actual installation,” the developers add.
