URBAN Maschinenbau - First Apprentice Exchange with Canada

First Apprentice Exchange in Canada

Jürgen and Robin are gaining international experience at Urban Machinery

A special highlight for two of our trainees: Jürgen Kleß, a trainee industrial clerk, and Robin Müller, a trainee industrial mechanic, had the opportunity to visit our Canadian subsidiary, Urban Machinery, in Fredericton, Canada, from June 30 to July 21.

The trip was not only a unique opportunity to gain international work experience, but also a special recognition of their outstanding performance during their training. Jürgen and Robin were the first trainees to be given the chance to visit Urban Machinery in Canada and actively participate in the work there, thanks to their excellent performance.

In the future, this exchange will take place annually and will recognize particularly dedicated trainees for their achievements.

International training experience at Urban Machinery in Canada

For Jürgen and Robin, the trip to Canada was a very special experience. For the first time, trainees had the opportunity to tour the Urban Machinery plant in Fredericton and see the work processes at the Canadian branch up close.

During their stay, the two gained fascinating insights into various operational processes. It wasn’t just about observing: Jürgen and Robin were able to actively participate and gain hands-on experience. This international practical experience is a valuable part of their professional development and demonstrates just how diverse an apprenticeship at Urban can be.

Insights into on-site workflows and teamwork

The two trainees were particularly impressed by the openness and helpfulness of their Canadian colleagues. From the very beginning, Jürgen and Robin were warmly welcomed and quickly felt like part of the team.

The colleagues took plenty of time to explain their work, answer questions, and involve the two of them in the on-site processes. As a result, Jürgen and Robin were able to not only learn a great deal professionally, but also experience firsthand how important collaboration, communication, and mutual support are in an international work environment.

Experience Canada: Nature, Culture, and unforgettable Moments

In addition to the many fascinating experiences at the plant, there was also time to explore Canada outside of work. The stunning natural scenery, the diverse culture, and the warm hospitality of the people made the trip an unforgettable experience.

A particular highlight was whale watching, during which Jürgen and Robin were able to observe whales and seals up close. Several hikes through the dense forests and along beautiful stretches of coastline also offered impressive glimpses of Canada’s nature and wildlife.

Another highlight was playing golf. Since they were provided with a full set of equipment, they were not only able to get their first taste of the golf course but also participate in an in-house tournament. This shared experience further strengthened their team spirit and created many wonderful memories.

Recognition of outstanding achievement in education

The trainee exchange program to Canada demonstrates the importance Urban places on training, dedication, and personal development. This special opportunity rewards trainees who stand out for their excellent performance, commitment, and motivation.

As the first participants in this exchange program, Jürgen and Robin have gained valuable experience that will help them grow both professionally and personally. At the same time, their stay serves as a strong testament to how important international collaboration and the development of young talent are to Urban.

A heartfelt thank you

Jürgen and Robin would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Urban for this unique opportunity. The trip was exceptionally well organized, ensuring that everything went smoothly once we arrived.

The many new experiences, practical lessons, and personal encounters will stay with them for a long time to come. Their stay in Canada was not only a valuable experience for their professional futures, but also an unforgettable adventure on a personal level.

Conclusion: Training with a future

Jürgen Kleß and Robin Müller’s visit to Urban Machinery in Canada was a complete success. The exchange uniquely combines professional development, international experience, and personal growth.

With its planned annual trainee exchange program, Urban is creating promising opportunities for dedicated young professionals and demonstrating that outstanding performance during training is recognized and rewarded.
