Merschmann stands for perfection
Custom-fit windows and doors from the professionals. That’s exactly what Merschmann Fenster GmbH & Co. KG, based in Delbrück-Ostenland in East Westphalia, promises its customers. The Merschmann team excels in providing top-notch advice and outstanding service.
“Whether we’re out at a customer’s construction site or here in our production facility, we pay close attention to the details and make sure, among other things, that our workspaces look inviting and are tidy,” explains Managing Director Manfred Merschmann, who runs the company together with his brother Reinhard and his mother Hedwig.
When making his most recent investment, Merschmann placed great importance on the machine supplier being open to the window manufacturer’s wishes and ideas. “That’s exactly the kind of openness I found at Urban and their distributor, Finke. That’s what tipped the scales,” said Merschmann.
The specifications for the new window and door production in the two newly constructed 34 x 60 m halls were clear: at Merschmann, sashes and frames are not assembled at the glazing station, as is usually the case, but at the assembly tables. “This gives us much better final inspection, especially for custom components,” explains Manfred Merschmann, who employs 30 people in production alone.
The new window and door manufacturing facility has six workstations dedicated to series production, with an additional four for custom-made components.
To ensure that the welding and finishing line—consisting of two four-head welding machines from the AKS 6600 series and the SV 840 two-head finishing machine—runs smoothly, Merschmann maintains a robust storage system. A storage station with up to 130 spaces is available for the sash frames, and a separate one with 50 spaces is provided for the sashes.
Using multi-sided discharge, the SV 840 automatically fills the respective storage stations. “This gives us complete flexibility,” explains Merschmann, for whom even windows with a wood-grain finish are produced via standard production rather than custom manufacturing.
The necessary milling operations are performed in the CNC cutting center prior to welding. It goes without saying that even particularly large components measuring 3,000 x 4,000 mm pose no problem for Merschmann’s production process. The same applies to door components with a bottom threshold, which are simply incorporated into the production line.
