We’re here to make work easier. This was certainly the case with our long-standing customer HÖHBAUER, a manufacturer of windows, front doors, and sunrooms in the Upper Palatinate. When they were looking for a system to replace the one they’d been using for 25 years—one that would save time and money in production and make their workflow more flexible—we were able to win them over with our quality and service.
Since 1950, the HÖHBAUER plant in Luhe-Wildenau has been manufacturing windows, front doors, and sunrooms—all under one roof. In its work, the company places particular emphasis on quality and expertise to ensure that its customers’ wishes are fulfilled to their complete satisfaction. These two factors are also key criteria for HÖHBAUER when selecting its machinery. Thanks to a technologically optimized process design and the high URBAN quality standards of our facility, we were ultimately able to distinguish ourselves from several competitors and successfully implement the project in collaboration with HÖHBAUER. Our prefabricated component buffer with final assembly was installed at the customer’s facility.
Whereas the windows used to come off the production line in a disorganized state, the goal here is to bring order to the process. Gereon Brück and Reinhard Sixl from HÖHBAUER explain what they expect from the new system:
“Our requirements were that the windows could be allocated to the four workstations on a per-order basis and according to various criteria (e.g., roller shutter boxes, muntins, etc.). A buffer area should be provided in front of this for temporarily storing the components.”
The customer’s target was 250 units per shift. We can do even better!

What sets our systems apart is, first and foremost, their design, which we always tailor to our customers’ individual needs and local conditions. The system for prefabricated glass elements consists of racks with special rollers that are also suitable for aluminum deck shells. With an eye toward the future, the shelf spacing is designed for 180 mm. Special roller conveyors ensure smooth transport, even for extremely heavy elements weighing up to approximately 250 kg.
Thanks to the Quattro drive system, the line operates with exceptional efficiency and currently distributes the finished components to four workstations. These include one roller shutter workstation, one glazing bar workstation, and two “standard workstations.” Should additional buffer space be required in the future, the number of workstations can be expanded, although this will not be necessary for the time being. This is because, despite the minimal space required by the system, it includes 56 buffer stations and a rotating carriage.

With this URBAN system, we were once again able to satisfy our long-standing customer, streamline their production process, and make their day-to-day work much easier.
